Ave Mobility set out to become an eMobility service provider for the Polish market at a moment when drivers faced a fragmented landscape: public charging stations run by many different operators, each with its own app and account.

Their proposition was to remove that friction entirely by giving drivers access to every public charging station in the country through a single application. Delivering on it meant building an eMSP platform able to connect all local operators, whether through open protocols or bespoke integrations, and shipping mobile applications on both platforms quickly enough to matter in a fast-moving market.

In a nutshell

A complete eMSP system with a mobile application giving drivers access to every public charging station in Poland, regardless of which operator runs it. Designed from scratch and delivered in four months, it reached full national coverage through open protocols, custom integrations and adoption of EIPA.

Challenges

Ave Mobility approached us looking for an experienced team to build an eMSP platform together with mobile applications for Android and iOS. The journey began with a detailed specification, which mattered here because the product’s promise was unusually broad.

The purpose was to make charging straightforward for electric vehicle drivers in Poland by giving them access to all public charging stations in the country, even those managed by different operators. Delivering that meant the platform had to be built as a comprehensive system connecting every local charge point operator and their stations, some through open protocols and others through custom integrations where no standard connection existed.

Our approach

We opened with a thorough specification and worked through every aspect an eMSP platform of this scale has to cover. The team – a backend lead developer, two React Native developers, a UX designer and a project manager, all with eMobility experience behind them – launched the first version four months after starting.

Knowing what the industry actually requires, we integrated and adapted the OCPI module to get the most out of the system, and extended the work to EIPA integration so the platform could draw on the national registry of charging infrastructure. The outcome was an eMSP system and mobile application with complete market coverage, giving users access to every public charging station in Poland from a single app.

Full national coverage as a design goal

Complete coverage was not a milestone reached later but the constraint that shaped the architecture. Because operators differ in what they expose and how, the platform had to combine standard OCPI connections with bespoke integrations behind one consistent interface. From the driver’s side that complexity is invisible: one app, one account, every public station in the country.
