A foundation that could no longer keep pace
Until recently, EWE Go ran its charging operations on a third-party CPMS, while developing its eMSP application with an in-house team. That setup served its purpose for a while. But as the network grew and the list of external systems it had to connect to kept expanding, the previous solution ran out of room. It kept day-to-day operations running, yet it offered no path to where the business was heading.
So EWE Go decided to change the foundation. Together with Solidstudio, the company moved to a CPMS it could shape around its own roadmap rather than someone else’s, with the freedom to develop it further as new requirements appear.

Bringing the CPMS backbone under its own control gives EWE Go the flexibility to connect customer-facing e-mobility services with a powerful and adaptable CPO platform. This creates the foundation for a seamless charging experience across a continuously growing customer base.

A resilient CPMS platform, tailored to their ecosystem
Solidstudio teamed up with EWE Go to deliver a resilient CPMS platform tailored specifically to their ecosystem. The initiative spanned several key areas:
- Core CPMS Delivery & Customization: Providing the base CPMS and continuously extending it through a hybrid roadmap of standard product features and tailor-made functionalities.
- Infrastructure Migration: Assisting EWE Go in transitioning their charge point network smoothly from the previous solution to the new CPMS.
- DevOps & Infrastructure Alignment: Dedicated DevOps support to meet EWE Go’s stringent internal enterprise standards for stability, performance, and high availability ahead of the go-live.
- Post-Launch SLA & Support: Continuous operational support and maintenance to ensure high network reliability post-launch.
One view both sides worked from
At this scale, the roadmap was the single most important tool in the project, and the one view that Solidstudio and EWE Go shared. We set out a high-level outline at the start, anchored to the dates that would let us hit the required go-live. From then on we met with the client every week to walk through the roadmap together, review progress and adjust as priorities and external dependencies evolved.
Unexpected requirements as a normal part of the process
A project of this size always surfaces topics that no contract could have anticipated, and this one was no exception. We handled each of them the same way: starting from the business requirement, moving into technical analysis, and finishing with an estimate of the additional effort involved. We then discussed the full picture with EWE Go and decided together whether the roadmap needed adjusting, so that everything in the MVP scope would still be ready for go-live.
