May started out in Germany where our team attended 

 in Munich — a mammoth gathering of over 3,000 companies and tens of thousands of visitors from across the global clean energy landscape. As one of the largest events of its kind, the conference bridges sectors like solar, hydrogen, storage, and eMobility, spotlighting both technological breakthroughs and pressing industry challenges.

Nestled within this expansive ecosystem was 

, the dedicated segment for eMobility and EV charging infrastructure. There was no shortage of striking booths, cutting-edge hardware, and product innovation.

The inordinate scale of the event would leave many in awe. Similarly to last year, P2D gathered aprox. 3000 exhibitors and close to 100 000 visitors. Numbers like this leave no question in terms of how advanced the green energy industry gets.

With the record amount of onsite meetings, our crew agrees that such events remain incredibly important for the industry: for all companies to come together, exchange ideas, establish meaningful partnerships and in general move it all forward.

We are excited to share our latest success story: the 

, detailing one of the most ambitious EV charge point migrations! This project involved 

 to a new CPMS system while ensuring zero downtime and a seamless transition for EV users.

We traveled to London to visit Connected Kerb at their office and reflect a bit on how the collaboration went.

The migration was executed in carefully planned phases to minimize risk and disruption. Beginning with a

The undeniable importance of CPMS migration

No matter the size of the network, software runs in the background and ensures service continuity and efficient management. With that, relying on outdated or unsupported systems can lead to operational risks, compatibility issues, and stunted growth - a reality that has been starkly highlighted by recent market disruptions. The wind-down of Landis+Gyr’s EV charging division and previous similar happenings with EVBox have left many Charge Point Operators in need of secure, reliable, future-proof solutions.

Of course, such a changeover comes with an inevitable migration.

Having had many discussions with many CPOs of different sizes and business objectives, we’ve noticed that the case of

Last week, we officially closed the conference lineup for 2024.

And we’ve picked a great event to do so… The London EV Show, of which we were one of the sponsors, turned out to be a great place to meet new people and exchange thoughts and insights about the industry.

Held at ExCel London, it was the 4th edition and, for a rather young event, it gathered a fantastic selection of EV-related companies as well as industry leaders, policymakers or great speakers. The event began with powerful remarks from Lilian Greenwood MP, Minister for the Future of Roads, and Mete Coban, London’s Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy, emphasizing the city's ambitious vision to lead the world as a fully EV-ready global metropolis.

The event spotlighted a range of pivotal topics, from evolving consumer preferences and market dynamics to advancements in battery management and strategies for fleet electrification. A strong emphasis was placed on the critical importance of charging infrastructure in driving the shift to electric mobility. Additionally, micromobility's transformative potential in urban transportation took center stage, with innovative solutions presented throughout the discussions. We were super lucky to be able to also shed some light on the matters of software within the EV charging sphere.

Finally, the London EV Show was a great place to introduce our newest crew member - Jeroen, who joined Solidstudio as Chief Commercial Officer. Jeroen will surely become a frequent participant of more events in 2025 and we’re looking forward to teaming up for great eMobility collaborations.

Solidstudio ranked 5th in all of Central Europe (2nd in Poland) in the Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Programme and we couldn’t be more thrilled about it

 is an annual ranking that recognizes and celebrates the fastest-growing technology businesses across 19 Central European countries. Companies are evaluated based on their percentage revenue growth over a set period - four years between 2020 and 2023. The program highlights organizations that are driving innovation, showing entrepreneurial spirit and contributing significantly to the technology sector's advancement.

Securing position in the TOP5 amongst hundreds of companies across 19 countries - with growth measured in thousands of percentage points - is certainly an amazing achievement and such an important verification of our work so far.

This year’s edition was special as it marked the 25th anniversary of the programme, making it one of the most established rankings of this type. The program is partnered by Google Cloud.

Companies who wished to participate in this programme needed to meet a set of criteria:

Have base-year operating revenues of at least 50 000€ in 2020, 2021, 2022 and a current year operating revenue (2023) of at least 100 000€

Own proprietary intellectual property or proprietary technology, sold to customers in products that contribute to a majority of the company’s operating revenues

Have an ownership structure that excludes majority-owned subsidiaries of strategic entities.

Be in business a minimum of 4 years - founded on or prior to December 31, 2019

Amongst sectors that have the most laureates, there are software, fintech, media & entertainment.

Here’s what Tomasz Konik, CEO of Deloitte Central Europe has to say about the laureates: 

“CE Technology Fast 50 companies have created new solutions that make the world safer, more sustainable, more diverse – and more fun. They’ve found markets for their offerings, creating jobs and boosting local economies. And they’ve attracted customers at such scale that over the last year they’ve increased their revenues by hundreds – if not thousands – of percentage points.”

Aside from the main category, Deloitte organized supporting rankings:

: highlights the fastest-growing tech companies in Central Europe that are currently too young to be included in the main ranking.

: lists entities which successfully link great products/services with a positive impact on at least one of the following: society, business, innovativeness, environment and diversity.

: special recognition by Google Cloud and Deloitte awarding companies that have developed high-quality, scalable solutions with the potential to serve the most demanding customers in the market

Amidst the charming canals and historic architecture of Amsterdam, our CTO, Piotr recently joined Open Charge Alliance (OCA) in celebrating a remarkable milestone - their 10th anniversary. For the past decade, OCA has been a strong player in revolutionizing EV charging through open standards and collaborative efforts. Gathering with industry leaders and enthusiasts in this vibrant city, the event not only celebrated a decade of hard work but also looked ahead to the future of the industry via discussion panels and presentations.

OCA, who is the owner of Open Charge Point Protocol, kicked off their 10th anniversary with an opening dinner along with rewards for the most active OCPP contributors. The evening was a tribute not only to a decade of existing on the market but also to the dedicated individuals and organizations that have contributed to the development and adoption of the Open Charge Point Protocol. Recognizing the most active contributors, the OCA honored those who have significantly impacted the EV charging industry through their technical expertise and collaborative spirit.

The second day unfolded into a full-fledged conference with insightful panels and discussions covering all facets of eMobility. Industry experts got into topics ranging from the latest technological advancements to policy developments and market trends. Some sessions served as a sobering reality check, highlighting the challenges that still lie ahead for widespread EV adoption and infrastructure development.

The event culminated on the third day with an exclusive tour of leading eMobility companies in the region.

A significant highlight of the anniversary celebrations was the announcement that on October 20th, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) published the approval of OCPP as an IEC International Standard, designated as 

. This accreditation is a testament to the OCA's decade-long commitment to promoting open, interoperable EV charging solutions worldwide.

Last week we had a chance to be one of the industry sponsors of this year’s New Mobility Congress and what’s special about it is that this was the first time we exhibited in Poland. Seeing eMobility events grow to such a scale in this part of Europe is a thrilling experience, even if there’s still some room for improvement.

The event featured numerous speakers across multiple panels, with all three conference days filled with seminars and discussions taking place on several different stages. Certainly, no matter what branch of eMobility, anyone could find something interesting.

This year, panels caught our attention especially, as Paweł, Solidstudio’s CEO, participated in two of them - one as panelist and the other as moderator. The first one took on the matter of EV clubs and their significance for the industry. The second one - especially interesting - uncovered some unique perspectives on payments in the sphere of EV charging.

The panel about payments introduced many concepts that are currently used in EV charging from RFID cards, through mobile app payments, wallets, prepaid, subscriptions to ad-hoc credit card payments and clashed these against different markets and future possibilities.

According to what has been repeated a lot amongst participants, the next edition is planned to be even bigger - we're definitely look forward to seeing such events grow massively in Poland.
