GreenWay recognized that scaling a charging network effectively requires more than just hardware; it requires a powerful, future-proof software foundation. They understood that to grow smartly and maintain their leadership in the CEE region, investing in a sophisticated CPMS upgrade was essential. This wasn't just about replacing a tool - it was a strategic move to ensure their digital infrastructure could keep pace with their ambitious expansion goals.
Specific requirements included integration with their existing systems, such as their ERP, proprietary mobile app, and external eMSP partners. Additionally, by migrating to the Solidstudio CPMS, the client gained full control over their data, enabling them to build even more advanced monitoring and oversight systems for their charging network.
Development
Prior to the development phase, we conducted a series of workshops (Event Storming, risk analysis, and business process mapping), discussions, and exercises - both online and on-site in Kraków and Gdynia. These sessions were designed to identify specific needs, pain points, and areas for improvement that directly impact and enhance the client's daily operations. The workshops involved a cross-functional team, including system architects, business analysts, e-mobility and migration experts, UX designers, QA testers, and developers.
It is worth noting that our collaboration was built on a strategic partnership from the outset. During our discussions and workshops, we aligned both companies 'visions for the CPMS platform' s evolution. This allowed us to pinpoint features within the Solidstudio product roadmap that matched GreenWay’s specific needs. As a result, the client gained significant business value while keeping costs highly optimized. Furthermore, GreenWay's extensive operational experience allowed us to design and tailor solutions for a larger infrastructure scale, making network management significantly more efficient.

The migration process was executed using a strategy designed to guarantee zero operational downtime. By leveraging an iterative approach, both the legacy and the new CPMS systems could function simultaneously in a safe and seamless manner. This allowed us to verify that all business processes were running flawlessly before, during, and after the actual cutover.
Navigating the Migration of GreenWay’s B2B Clients
Migrating the B2B clients managed by GreenWay was undoubtedly one of the project's most significant steps. Maintaining absolute operational continuity for these stations was our highest priority. Through a phased, gradual migration, meticulously defined roll-out procedures, and advanced tracking tools, we successfully completed the full transition of all stations with downtime kept to a minimum thanks to meticulous planning of the entire process, and limited the need for on-site technician visits to a minimum.

A major challenge involved the existing systems and processes the client already had in place. By performing a deep dive into the client’s internal structures and daily operations, we were able, with GreenWay's team, to execute a secure migration process and tailor the CPMS to their specific needs and requirements. The creation of this unified digital ecosystem provides a robust foundation, supporting the client’s business growth and preparing them to implement innovative solutions in the future.
Thanks to the deep expertise of our migration team and GreenWay's technical experts, we were able to catch potential challenges, edge cases, and incompatibilities at an early stage – addressing them well before they could noticeably affect production. This proactive approach was made possible by utilizing proprietary migration utilities, such as our OCPP Proxy as well as strategies developed jointly with GreenWay and best practices, which significantly streamlined the testing, verification, and final execution of the charger migration.

Enhancing Migration with Our In-House Tool: OCPP Proxy
During our migration project for Connected Kerb, involving 9,000 charging stations, a key enabler of success was our proprietary OCPP Proxy. This in-house tool allowed for a seamless, phased transition by facilitating dual operation of legacy and new systems, minimizing downtime, and ensuring smooth communication between charging stations and backend platforms. Having such a robust solution internally not only streamlined the migration process but also reinforced our ability to deliver complex projects with confidence and precision.
